Kick Off Solar Power Mission to Mexico

On 21 May 2019 the kick off seminar for the Solar Mission to Mexico took place, in The Hague, The Netherlands.

The afternoon started with an interactive session on business opportunities in Mexico, and how these make their way to The Netherlands, forming concrete opportunities for Dutch companies.

Lowina Broens, RVO Business Development Coach for Mexico, explained how Mexico has been a country of opportunity for some time now, not only in absolute financial numbers, but also through strong relationships between The Netherlands and Mexico; a relation that has bloomed over the last years.

Second speaker Lise Hordijk, International Business Manager from NL in Business, introduced the Dutch business council in Mexico: Holland House Mexico. This organization facilitates Dutch companies starting business in the Mexican market, through professional services such as matchmaking and local representation, and many others.

The Solar Power Mission will include attendance to the conference Solar Asset Management Mexico, hosted by Dutch enterprise Solar Plaza. Marcel Langone explained their experiences from last years´ fair and elaborated on the scope of the Mexican solar market and recent industry developments.

Lastly, Fernando Flores, visiting CEO of Green ID from Mexico City, explained what makes this solar power mission unique. Focusing on in-dept business development, market research and personalized matchmaking are only some of the advantages for participating companies. He highlighted business opportunities that were identified in the past months through meetings with over 50 Mexican solar companies in niche markets, and presented REDSOLAR, the first Mexican company to officially participate in the mission.
